three special opportunities to find us (and our hazelnuts) this fall!

Saturday, October 11
We’ll be sharing and selling in-shell hazelnuts at Big River Chestnut‘s 5th annual Chestnut Festival at the home farm on River Road in Sunderland, MA! Big River Chestnuts recently received new grant funded nut processing equipment and is working to build cooperative processing capacity for chestnuts and other perennial crops in the Valley.

Sunday, November 2
The New England Botanical Garden has invited us to participate in their Northeastern Nut Tree Symposium as speakers and vendors. We’ll be talking about the rich cultural story of hazelnuts and the power of perennial crops to shift our relationships to land, time, and community.

Sunday, November 16
Our friends over in the Hudson Valley watershed have invited us to their fun festival celebrating all things nuts! We’ll be sharing and selling in-shell nuts and demonstrating some of our small-scale cracking equipment. Enjoy roasted chestnuts and samplings of acorns, hickories, and other nuts, all at Rose Hill Farm‘s picturesque cider orchard and tasting room!
